BS 4872-1:1982 or BS 4872-2:1976 for MIG/MAG Brazing and TIG welding and BS1140:1993 SPOT
Compliance with BSI quality standards and the provision of competent welding personnel is becoming an increasing requirement in the automotive aftercare market.
In order to ensure that competent personnel are employed for welding automotive parts and associated repairs, original manufacturers, trade bodies and insurance companies in the majority of instances require them to be qualified in accordance
with BS 4872-1:1982 or BS 4872-2:1976 for MIG/MAG Brazing and TIG welding and BS1140:1993 for spot welding.
What will I study on the course?
You will study and practice the skills and techniques required to produce welds that you will present to our CSWIP approved welding assessor.

Heath & Safety associated with welding procedures
Welding Equipment set-up and function training
Assessment to BSI qualification
Certification
Operatives that successfully complete qualification welds in accordance with BS4872-1:1982, BS4872:1976 and BS1140:1993 are issued with a certificate to confirm they have met the required standards.
Please note that assessments are available for two different material diameters 0.75 - 1.5mm and 1.5mm - 3mm. Candidates should check with their manufacturer which material range is needed for certification before they attend.
The BSI certificate is valid for 2 years.
Course Duration
The course duration for each individual qualification is 1 day.
